Measurement Devices Ltd (MDL) are a world leader in laser measurement technology and positioning and navigation systems.

MDL is a privately owned Scottish based designer and manufacturer of eye-safe laser based measurement systems. The company was established in 1983 and is ISO 9001/ 2000 certified.

MDL’s products range from simple laser modules to complex 3D laser surveying and imaging systems. A number of MDL’s products have become ‘industry standard’ including Fanbeam? laser radar for dynamic positioning control of ships and Quarryman? 3D laser rock profiling systems used in hard rock mining operations.

MDL operates from three bases: Aberdeen, Scotland, York, England and Houston, Texas, USA. 80% of MDL’s sales are outside the UK.

The Aberdeen Headquarters house production, design and administration. York is the UK, Europe, Africa and Asian sales and technical support centre. Houston is the sales and technical support centre for the Americas.

MDL have over 60 reseller’s world-wide managed by MDL’s UK and US offices, and supported by business representatives in the Nordic countries, Japan and South East Asia.
