2009年2月9日，張江集團和桑迪亞公司簽約共同建設“張江新藥孵化平臺”，在國內首次采用 IP+CRO+VC（即知識產權、研發(fā)外包服務、風險投資相結合）的全新產業(yè)化模式直接孵化新藥，這將打破國內新藥研發(fā)領域長期偏重于重復硬件建設而不出成果的困局, 能使我國的新藥研發(fā)快速進入到一個全新的階段。

成立7年來，桑迪亞公司規(guī)模不斷擴大，實驗室面積從最初的500平方米發(fā)展到如今的15,000平方米，科研、生產設施一流。目前，公司共有科研人員約600人，博士碩士比例約 90%，其中海歸高端人才比例約10% 。
